Part time foundation degree course in Inclusive Sport Development
Please use this information link to learn about an exciting new part time foundation degree course in Inclusive Sport Development. This new course offered by Liverpool John Moore’s University and Greenbank College is a qualification in its own right that combines academic and vocational learning. This means a qualification that bases the knowledge, skills and assessment on the workplace, therefore developing the student and their company, if they are employed.
It is ideal for elite athletes or disabled people who have retired from competitive sport. It has been designed so that athletes can still complete the course with there ongoing training and competition schedule. It is also ideal for the mature student, or someone who has been out of education for a number of years. As you will see there are also no formal entry qualifications, and it gives the student a qualification outright and also the chance to progress directly into year 3 of a full honours degree.
The benefit is that there are a number of sports scholarships available at LJMU and Greenbank will be offering 4 paid community sport coaching posts for some of the students studying on the foundation degree from September 2007. This will reduce the financial costs for some students and also allow them to gain practical work experience.
An open day is being held on Wednesday 23rd May 2007 where further details can be obtained.
