Peter Jackson
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Peter Jackson this morning (Thursday 22nd July, 2010) at Willowbrook Hospice in Merseyside.
Peter had been involved with the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association for many years and was an essential part of the development and growth of the sport, especially in the North West.
His devotion to Juniors in the sport has been an example to all, together with his passion for his club, The Vikings. Peter was also involved in the promotion of a Women’s club in the region and a great supporter of the regional junior squad.
Peter raised many thousands of pounds to support clubs in the North West, money which supported clubs, the region and GB players where the funding was not available.
Our thoughts go to Jean, Dan, Nicola, Ryan, Jodie and all his family at this time of sadness, along with our gratitude for everything Peter has contributed to our sport.
