GB Juniors Coach

Haj Bhania was appointed the full time Great Britain Junior Head Coach and Southern Area Regional and Development Coach in 2007. He one is a very experienced coach and has been involved in the coaching setup for many years now.

He has been a coach of Aces Wheelchair Basketball Club since 1996 and since being there they have won two major European Club Championships, the National Cup in 1998 and also the National League in the 2004/05 and 2005/06 season.

Since 1997 he has been involved in the Performance team for GBWBA starting out as the Assistant Coach for GB Junior Men's (U22) Wheelchair Basketball Team at the inaugural World Junior Championships being promoted to Head Coach in the following year where he still remains. During that role he has lead them to two European Gold’s and just outside the medal positions in fourth place at the World Junior Championships in 2001 and 2005.

Other roles he has also occupied are Team Manager to the Great Britain’s Senior Men and Assistant Coach to both the GB Senior’s men and women. 

Haj is also one of GBWBA’s tutors for the wheelchair basketball coach courses and has tutored various coaching courses and clinics both in the UK and abroad in places such as Portugal, Bosnia, Saudi Arabia, Romania, Netherlands, Sweden.

 He also coaches an able bodied senior team in the Herts League and Junior teams from U10’s to U18’s in the Bucks Junior League.
