Young Officials Development Officer
Robby started with GBWBA in September after graduating from Loughborough University, a keen wheelchair basketball player he currently plays for Derby Wheelblazers and has represented Great Britain Under 23's.
The Young Officials project was created by Youth Sport Trust (YST) in partnership with ‘V’, eight National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and the English Federation of Disability Sport East Midlands (EFDS EM). The aim of this project was and still is to increase youth involvement in sport by developing young people as officials.
Robby's role is to produce an award for the NGB that can be deployed and delivered throughout the country to give young people the opportunity to experience officiating in Wheelchair Basketball. The award needs to be inclusive and accessible to all young people as well as serving the club structure for the sport and reaching out into School Sport Partnerships (SSPs).
