The Lord’s Taverners are supporting the whole junior development programme of wheelchair basketball throughout the United Kingdom and took the opportunity at the npower Midlands Disability Sports Awards to present a cheque for the first year of support.

Tina Gordon, our Junior Development Officer who is funded as part of this grant is doing an excellent job and she is working very closely with the clubs and the Lord’s Taverners to bring more people in to sport and particularly wheelchair basketball.

This was the 6th npower Midlands Disability Sports Awards and the key note speaker this year was GBWBA’s own Sinclair Thomas who delivered an inspirational speech to all present.
