2008 Junior League Finals

After 3 hard fought rounds of the ‘Lord’s Taverner’s Junior League’, 8 teams progressed to the finals at Wildcats Arena, Nottingham, on 26^th April 2008, (Meteors, Jaguars, Steelers and Mavericks from the North division, and Bombers, Knights, Force and Marvels from the South division).

Congratulations go to Manchester Mavericks for winning the ‘Arthur Lee’ Plate final against Belfast Knights, which went into double over-time, final score 23 v 19.

The ‘battle for Bronze’ saw Bury Bombers and Sheffield Steelers playing each other, with Steelers just edging forwards in the forth quarter to win 22 v 14.

The final between Nottingham Jaguars and Meteors was a super display of fundamental skill and team work from both squads, with Meteors winning the final 33 v 13.

Thanks go to all the officials, parents and team staff who have made the league and finals possible, especially Bob Bhania and Jan Timms for arranging all officials.

Special thanks goes to The Lord’s Taverners for their generous support throughout the season, and we look forward to developing the league further next season.
